US Lawmakers Criticize Andrew for Silence in Epstein Probe

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has faced significant criticism from US lawmakers regarding his lack of response in a congressional investigation into the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The House Oversight Committee had requested a “transcribed interview” with Andrew concerning his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein, who died in a New York prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on multiple charges, including sex trafficking and conspiracy.

The committee’s Democrats, Robert Garcia and Suhas Subramanyam, expressed their frustration after stating they had not received any communication from Andrew by the deadline of November 20. They accused him of evading accountability, stating, “Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence in the face of the Oversight Democrats’ demand for testimony speaks volumes.” They emphasized that the evidence reviewed, along with public records and testimony from Virginia Roberts Giuffre, raises serious questions that Andrew must address.

The lawmakers asserted that their investigation would proceed regardless of Andrew’s participation, promising to hold all individuals involved in Epstein’s crimes accountable. “We will get justice for the survivors,” they declared.

Earlier this month, Andrew was stripped of his royal titles, including his Duke of York designation. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing, including allegations made by Giuffre, who claims he sexually assaulted her when she was a minor. Although he previously agreed to cease using his titles, he had anticipated retaining his status as a prince and dukedom, particularly with the upcoming publication of Giuffre’s memoir.

In addition to these serious accusations, media reports have surfaced alleging that Andrew sought to engage the Metropolitan Police in a smear campaign against Giuffre. The police force acknowledged it was investigating these claims after The Mail On Sunday reported that Andrew had provided Giuffre’s date of birth and social security number to his taxpayer-funded bodyguard in 2011, asking him to conduct an investigation.

In related news, Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife, is reportedly contemplating offers for a television interview. US networks are said to be willing to pay significant sums, potentially in the six-figure range, for her insights into the ongoing situation.

As the investigation continues, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence raises pressing questions about accountability and transparency in high-profile cases involving serious allegations. The outcome of this inquiry could have far-reaching implications for all parties involved.
