Medi Jones-Jackson Takes Helm as Mudiad Meithrin’s Marketing Manager
Medi Jones-Jackson has been appointed as the new Marketing, Communications, and Events Manager for Mudiad Meithrin, a significant role in promoting Welsh language initiatives. Based in Aberystwyth, she will oversee marketing strategies, event coordination, and communications for the organization, which supports Welsh-medium childcare and education across Wales.
Mudiad Meithrin plays a vital role in fostering Welsh culture by encouraging young children and families to become fluent in the language. Medi’s extensive background in marketing and event management positions her well to lead campaigns that showcase the organization’s diverse projects.
Iola Jones, the Head of Communications and Partnerships at Mudiad Meithrin, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “Medi has many years of experience working in marketing, events, and communications in several national organisations across Wales. We are delighted with the appointment and look forward to working with her as she will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to this central role.”
With over 20 years of experience in marketing, Medi has collaborated with some of Wales’ largest cultural institutions. Her recent work includes managing promotional projects and events for the Welsh Government in international locations such as Japan, the USA, and Dubai. This global perspective will be instrumental in enhancing Mudiad Meithrin’s outreach and visibility.
Medi expressed her enthusiasm about joining Mudiad Meithrin, saying, “I am really looking forward to taking on the marketing, events and communications role at Mudiad Meithrin. Mudiad Meithrin is a unique national organisation that plays an invaluable role in Welsh culture by creating new Welsh speakers among young children and families. I am confident that I will proudly undertake to promote all the good work of the Mudiad and I am proud to be a new member of the large Mudiad Meithrin family.”
Originally from the Conwy Valley and now residing on the outskirts of Aberystwyth, Medi is also a mother of two. In her spare time, she writes children’s books and volunteers with the Samaritans. Her book, Genod Gwych a Merched Medrus, received nominations for both Wales’ Book of the Year and the Tir na n’Og award, highlighting her commitment to promoting Welsh literature and culture.
Medi’s appointment marks a promising new chapter for Mudiad Meithrin as it continues to champion the Welsh language and support families in their educational journeys. Her wealth of experience and passion for the cause will be crucial in driving forward the organization’s mission.
