Greencroft Dog Day Care Expands Services and Earns 5-Star Licence
Greencroft Dog Day Care has marked its fifth anniversary by expanding its services and receiving a prestigious five-star animal welfare licence. Located in Consett, the family-run business, founded by David Lowes and managed alongside his partner Rachel Lowes, has become a vital part of the community, catering to dog owners across Consett, Stanley, and nearby areas.
Over the past five years, Greencroft has welcomed more than 28,000 visits, a testament to its reputation among local pet owners. In celebration of this milestone, the day care has launched Mutts Menu, a new venture offering premium raw dog food and natural treats. This expansion aims to provide a comprehensive solution for pet care needs, featuring products from well-regarded brands such as Durham Animal Feeds, Dibo, and Henley’s.
The addition of Mutts Menu not only broadens their product range but also aligns with the increasing trend among pet owners towards natural and raw diets for dogs. The centre now offers a diverse selection, including Frozzys and Jude’s frozen yoghurts, to ensure pets receive nutritious and enjoyable treats.
Greencroft has also proudly announced that it has been awarded a renewed five-star animal welfare licence for the next three years, following a successful inspection by County Durham Animal Welfare. This recognition highlights the dedication of their team, including Callum Bragan, Billie Orr, and Maddie Hayes, who strive to create a safe and engaging environment for all dogs in their care.
Community involvement is a core value at Greencroft. Beyond their business operations, David and Rachel actively volunteer at local initiatives such as Moorside BabyBank and the weekly community meals at St John’s Church Hall. Their commitment to giving back reflects a deep-rooted philosophy of supporting their neighbouring community while enhancing local connections.
Customer loyalty has played a significant role in their success. The support from long-standing clients, coupled with the influx of new customers, has been essential to Greencroft’s growth. David Lowes expressed gratitude, stating that the business’s continued development relies heavily on the trust and relationships built with their clients.
Greencroft Dog Day Care is located at Unit 5-6-7, Willow Way Industrial Estate, Greencroft Industrial Park, Parkhead, Annfield Plain, Stanley, DH9 7DT. They offer free local delivery for products from Mutts Menu, further enhancing convenience for customers.
As Greencroft celebrates these achievements, it continues to be a beloved establishment in Consett and Stanley, providing a nurturing environment for dogs and an attentive service for their owners.
