Police Launch Investigation After Decomposed Body Found in Car

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command is investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found inside a vehicle at the National Assembly Complex. The incident, which occurred on September 7, 2025, has raised concerns about safety and security within the area.

According to a statement from the FCT Police Command, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this case. The police are making efforts to identify the deceased, who is believed to be a male laborer.

At approximately 09:00 hours on the day of the discovery, authorities received a distress call reporting the lifeless body. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for the National Assembly Division promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the body inside a red Peugeot 406 with the registration number BWR-577 BF.

The body was subsequently taken to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it had reached an advanced state of decomposition. The police have assured the public that they will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
