Georgia Kousoulou Reveals Surgery Plans After Breast Lump Discovery

Georgia Kousoulou, the reality television star known for her role in *The Only Way Is Essex*, has announced her upcoming surgery following the discovery of a lump in her breast. The 34-year-old mother of two revealed her health concerns on social media, emphasizing the importance of seeking medical advice when faced with potential issues.

After giving birth to her son, Brody, in 2019 and daughter Gigi, who turns one this month, Kousoulou has been contemplating breast surgery. She recently shared that she had already planned to have her implants replaced but was prompted to take action when she discovered the lump during a routine check.

Kousoulou took to Instagram over the weekend to inform her followers about her health journey. “I needed to do that all because next week I am going in for my op,” she stated, referring to her upcoming surgical procedure. She explained that she had recorded a podcast titled *We Need To Talk* where she discussed her decision to undergo surgery to remove her breast implants.

The reality star explained that her implants were over 14 years old. Initially, she intended to wait until after having children to consider any changes. However, after discovering the lump during the summer, Kousoulou sought medical attention. “I went to the doctors and then had a scan because he felt the lump as well,” she said. The scan revealed that both implants had ruptured, with one having flipped over, prompting her doctor to advise immediate removal.

Despite her recent wedding to fellow *TOWIE* star Tommy Mallet in December 2023 and the challenges of caring for a newborn, Kousoulou felt it was crucial to address the issue promptly. She mentioned experiencing back pain and that the implants felt hard, but she initially “got on with it.”

In her message to fans, Kousoulou emphasized the necessity of regular check-ups for those with breast implants. “You cannot ignore things,” she remarked. “If you’ve got implants or are thinking about it, first you need to go to a really good surgeon. It is worth doing your research.” She expressed regret for not conducting thorough research before her initial surgery, stating, “I wish I had done my research like I am doing now. Back then I just wanted big boobs.”

Kousoulou concluded her message with a reminder for others to stay vigilant about their health. “If you have got implants, you need to check them like you would with normal boobs. Sometimes the implants can hide things. If you’ve got lumps and bumps, get checked.” She expressed gratitude for having discovered the lump, highlighting the importance of regular scans to monitor breast health.
