A drive-thru unit that houses a KFC restaurant in Sheppey has been listed for sale at just under £1.5 million. The property, located in the Neats Court Retail Park, is being marketed by Acuitus Limited and will be available for auction on September 18, 2023, unless it is sold prior to that date.

The sale of the unit is not expected to impact the ongoing operations of the KFC takeaway and restaurant, which is secured under a lease that runs until August 2043. This lease guarantees a stable rental income, as the annual rent is set at £95,000, with reviews scheduled every five years.

Location and Features of the Property

The drive-thru restaurant spans approximately 251.82 square meters and includes parking facilities capable of accommodating around 35 vehicles. The establishment is strategically situated within the well-established Neats Court Retail Park, which is surrounded by major retailers such as Morrisons, Sports Direct, Aldi, B&M, Poundland, Burger King, and Costa.

The KFC outlet opened its doors in August 2013 as part of the £30 million Neats Court Retail Park development in Queenborough. Initial customer response was enthusiastic, with the car park reportedly welcoming about 50 vehicles within the first hour of operation. The franchise, managed by Scotco Restaurants Ltd, has since created over 50 job opportunities in the area.

Despite the listing, the reasons behind the sale of the restaurant remain unclear. Acuitus Limited has been approached for further comment regarding the matter.

As the auction date approaches, interest in the property is expected to grow, given its prime location and the stability provided by the long-term lease.
