Among the proposed sites in Powys, one supermarket is expected to be located in **Llandrindod Wells**, while the other will be in **Newtown**. These new developments are part of Lidl’s broader strategy to enhance accessibility to its stores throughout the country, as the retailer aims to establish hundreds of new supermarkets by 2025.

The expansion will focus on a variety of locations, including town centres, retail parks, and standalone properties. To meet its operational standards, Lidl is looking for sites that fit specific criteria. These include unit sizes ranging from **18,000 to 26,500 square feet**, a minimum of **100 dedicated parking spaces**, and land plots of **1.5 acres** for standalone stores or up to **4 acres** for mixed-use developments.

Richard Taylor, Lidl’s Chief Development Officer, emphasized the need for convenience in various regions, stating, “There are still so many parts of the country crying out for convenient access to a Lidl store.” This initiative reflects Lidl’s commitment to responding to community needs and enhancing shopping options for consumers.
