The local economy is bolstered not only by Foodie Friday but also by the extensive regeneration efforts led by the borough’s mayoral development corporation. Currently, the programme has secured £600 million in private investment, resulting in the completion of 1,200 new homes and 170,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.

Infrastructure and Future Developments

Significant infrastructure improvements have accompanied the residential and commercial developments. A new transport interchange has been established, enhancing connectivity throughout the area. This includes a tram extension and proximity to Manchester Piccadilly, which is just a seven-minute train ride away.
