Adriatic Film & TV Awards Recognize Top Talent in Tivat
The inaugural Adriatic Film & TV Awards (AFA) took place in Porto Montenegro, Tivat, celebrating outstanding achievements in the film and television industry. The award for Best Film was presented to “Fiume o morte!”, a collaborative effort from Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia, directed by Igor Bezinović. The event highlighted the burgeoning talent in the region, with awards spanning various categories.
Among the notable winners was Lidija Kordić, a Montenegrin actress who received the Rising Star Award for her performance in the film “Radnička klasa ide u pakao.” Her recognition underscores the growing prominence of new talent in the industry.
In the acting categories, Jara Sofija Ostan took home the award for Best Actress for her role in “Kaj ti je deklica,” directed by Urska Đukić. Meanwhile, Leon Lučev won Best Actor for his portrayal in “Radnička klasa ide u pakao,” further emphasizing the film’s impact on the awards night.
Bezinović’s recognition extended beyond Best Film, as he also won the award for Best Director and Best Screenplay for “Fiume o morte!” This triple win reflects the film’s artistic merit and storytelling prowess. The Best Debut Film award was awarded to “Kaj ti je deklica,” marking a significant achievement for director Đukić.
The Best TV Series award went to “Sablja,” a collaborative production from Serbia and Bulgaria, created by Vladimir Tagić and Goran Stanković. In this category, Milica Gojković won Best Actress for her role in the series, while Dragan Mićanović was honored as Best Actor.
The AFA awards aim to create a platform for films and series from the Adriatic region, enhancing their visibility on the international stage. By launching at the beginning of the global awards season, the AFA provides crucial recognition that can assist in promoting these works to broader audiences and markets.
As the international film landscape continues to evolve, the Adriatic Film & TV Awards position themselves as a key player in elevating the profiles of regional filmmakers and actors. The recognition of both established and emerging talents at this event promises to ignite further interest and investment in the creative industries across the Adriatic region.
