Exciting November Events Light Up Kent’s Calendar
November in Kent is set to be a vibrant month filled with a variety of events, from dazzling fireworks displays to festive markets and seasonal attractions. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to an array of activities that promise to create lasting memories as the holiday season approaches.
Fireworks and Film Screenings Kick Off the Month
The month begins with a bang on November 1, featuring a series of fireworks displays at multiple locations, including Ashford Rugby Club, Central Park in Dartford, and Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells. Film enthusiasts can enjoy a screening of the classic film Beetlejuice at the Folkestone Harbour Arm, setting a lively tone for the festivities ahead.
Over the following days, the fireworks continue with events scheduled on November 2 at Racecourse Sports Ground in Tonbridge and on November 5 at venues including the Ship Inn near Gravesend and Viking Bay in Broadstairs. Additionally, Hocus Pocus will be screened at the Folkestone Harbour Arm on November 2, appealing to families and fans of the film.
Festive Markets and Holiday Attractions
As November progresses, the holiday spirit takes center stage. The Canterbury Christmas Market opens on November 12 at Whitefriars and Canterbury Cathedral, providing an ideal setting for gift shoppers. Local communities are also gearing up for Christmas lights switch-on events, with celebrations planned on November 14 in Canterbury and Tenterden, followed by additional switch-ons in Gravesend and Tunbridge Wells on November 15.
Families can enjoy a visit to Santa’s Grotto, which opens at Leeds Castle and Rare Breeds Centre on November 22. This year, the festive atmosphere will be enhanced by various attractions, including the Land of Oz light trail at Hever Castle, which opens on November 21, and the Christmas at Bedgebury light trail, debuting on the same day. These experiences aim to engage visitors through enchanting displays and holiday cheer.
Multiple markets and fairs will also take place throughout the month. The Kent Festive Gift and Food Show at the Kent Event Centre from November 14 to November 16 will showcase local products, while the Rochester Christmas Market opens on November 28 at Rochester Castle, adding to the season’s festive offerings.
As November comes to a close, a variety of performances will take place, including the production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, opening on November 28. The excitement of the season culminates with Santa Specials Train Rides available at both the Kent and East Sussex Railway in Tenterden and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in New Romney, also starting on November 29.
With a packed calendar of events, Kent is ready to embrace the festive season with enthusiasm and community engagement. Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in the celebrations, ensuring a memorable November for all.
