Ross King Exits Strictly Come Dancing After Emotional Dance-Off

Ross King has officially exited Strictly Come Dancing following a dance-off against Balvinder Sopal after Movie Week. The Lorraine showbiz correspondent performed alongside his professional partner, Jowita Przystal, but ultimately lost the judges’ vote, marking him as the second celebrity eliminated from the competition.
The dance-off featured King and Przystal showcasing a routine inspired by the classic series Thunderbirds, while Sopal and Julian Caillon impressed the panel with their Foxtrot. The judging panel unanimously chose to save Sopal, leading to King’s departure. The results were announced during the live show, which aired on October 7, 2023.
Following the results, King took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the experience. He shared a series of photos from his time on the show alongside fellow contestants. In his heartfelt message, he stated, “There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for this amazing opportunity.” He extended thanks to the Strictly cast and crew, his family, and especially to his dance partner, Jowita, acknowledging the support from fans that kept him motivated throughout the competition.
King’s emotional farewell resonated with many, including host Tess Daly, who remarked, “Adored by the entire team you will be SO MISSED Ross.” Former rugby player Chris Robshaw also commented, highlighting their camaraderie during rehearsals and performances.
During the results show, King reflected on his journey, becoming emotional when discussing his experience. “I have loved every single minute of it,” he shared with viewers. He thanked everyone involved in the production, from the judges to the backstage crew, emphasizing their warm welcome. He paid particular tribute to Przystal, stating, “She’s been a mentor, teacher, carer, and I could not have wished for a better partner.”
Przystal reciprocated King’s sentiments, thanking him for his hard work and dedication during rehearsals. She noted their shared experiences of laughter and tears throughout their time together, expressing hope that their bond would last beyond the competition.
Fans can expect to see King and Przystal on the upcoming episode of It Takes Two, where they will reflect on their journey in the competition and share memorable moments from their time on the dance floor.
