Stefan Dennis Returns to Strictly After Illness, Prepares for Charleston

Stefan Dennis has reassured fans of his wellbeing after he was forced to miss a live performance on the popular television show Strictly Come Dancing due to illness. The actor, known for his role in Neighbours, sat out the show’s Movie Week, heeding medical advice to take a break. Fortunately, he has since recovered and appeared on The One Show on October 15, 2023, alongside his professional dance partner, Dianne Buswell.

When asked about his health during the show, Stefan responded with a confident, “Good as gold.” He and Dianne are gearing up for their next performance, a Charleston, which presenter Vernon Kay described as “probably the most difficult” dance on the BBC programme. Stefan humorously acknowledged the challenge, suggesting Kay’s remarks did not exactly bolster his confidence.

Reflecting on his journey as a dancer, Stefan shared, “It’s funny because, as I was saying to Dianne today, I said for the first time, I’m actually starting to feel really confident about doing the dance and actually wanting to do it because up until now, being a complete non-dancer, I’ve had fear.” He admitted that he had experienced apprehension with each dance, despite occasional successes.

Dianne provided an update on their rehearsals for the upcoming performance scheduled for Saturday, October 18. “A little rocky Monday, but you know, as it goes on, he learns more and more about the dance and I think it’s going to be a good dance for us,” she stated. The duo appears to be optimistic about their chances as they prepare for the next round of the competition.

Last week, Strictly Come Dancing shared an official update via Instagram, explaining Stefan’s absence due to illness. The post noted, “Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised to rest, and as a result, he will not dance this weekend. In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week, when they will hopefully be able to dance again.”

As Stefan and Dianne look forward to their next performance, fans are eagerly anticipating their return to the dance floor. With renewed confidence and support from his partner, Stefan Dennis is determined to make a strong comeback in the competition.
