Vicky Pattison Breaks Down on Live TV After Judge’s Praise
Vicky Pattison, a prominent figure from the reality television series Geordie Shore, became emotional during a live broadcast of *Strictly Come Dancing* on November 2, 2025. The 37-year-old contestant shed tears after receiving heartfelt praise from judge Motsi Mabuse following her performance.
Pattison danced the American Smooth with professional partner Kai Widdrington, captivating the audience with their routine set to Bonnie Tyler’s iconic song, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Dressed as a white witch for Halloween Week, Pattison expressed her initial nerves about being the first to perform but ultimately impressed the judges.
The couple received a high score of 31, along with a rare standing ovation from the audience. Mabuse commended Pattison’s performance, stating, “A few weeks ago, I couldn’t believe that you’d open our show. I loved the character play in the beginning, you did it so, so well. So for me, you are a contender for the final.”
Moved by Mabuse’s remarks, Pattison struggled to hold back her tears while speaking with host Claudia Winkleman. She shared her feelings about performing first, expressing relief that she had a solid foundation to build upon. “I hated going first! Honestly, I loved this dance this week because for once I had a foundation to build on,” she said, visibly emotional. “I was just desperate to prove that I have improved.”
This episode followed an emotional week for Pattison, who had previously reflected on her struggles in the entertainment industry during Icons Week. Performing to Cheryl Cole’s “Fight For This Love,” she was surprised by a video message from the singer herself, which left her speechless. Pattison candidly discussed her past decisions and the journey to becoming a better version of herself, emphasizing that the song resonated with her experiences.
Before her performance, she articulated the significance of Cole as an inspiration. “Cheryl Cole is an icon to me. She’s a working-class girl from Newcastle. She has had her ups and downs, her grazed knees. I just feel like I can relate to a lot of that.”
Pattison also reflected on her early career, admitting that she made some “bad decisions” at a young age. “I first started out in this industry at about 21. I made some bad decisions. I just think at that age I didn’t have the tools to navigate the space I was in,” she acknowledged.
Now, she strives to be someone she can be proud of. “What I’ve learnt about myself is that with determination and a little bit of self-belief you can achieve stuff,” she concluded, underscoring the importance of family support as she participated in the show.
As Pattison continues her journey on *Strictly Come Dancing*, her emotional performances and candid reflections resonate with audiences, demonstrating her growth both as a dancer and as an individual in the public eye.
