Man Reveals Low-Calorie Pumpkin Spice Latte Hack at Starbucks
As the autumn season approaches, Starbucks enthusiasts often flock to the coffee chain to indulge in the famed Pumpkin Spice Latte. Originally introduced in selected stores in 2003 and widely available since 2004, this seasonal treat has become synonymous with fall. However, it is not just the festive flavour that patrons should consider; the drink is also known for its higher calorie and sugar content compared to a standard latte.
A man named Matt recently shared his preferred method for enjoying the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte with significantly fewer calories. Through a TikTok video, he highlighted the stark difference between the calorie count of the traditional latte, which contains approximately 266 calories and over 30 grams of sugar, and his modified version, which he claims can be reduced to just 81 calories and 10 grams of sugar.
Matt pointed out the cost associated with the standard Pumpkin Spice Latte, stating, “Almost £6 for a coffee!” He expressed concern about the calorie load, noting that consuming such a high-calorie drink could account for nearly 10% of a person’s daily calorie intake. “I could not imagine taking up so many of my daily calories by drinking one of these,” he added.
To create a lower-calorie alternative without sacrificing taste, Matt suggested several modifications to the traditional order. He recommended ordering a tall Pumpkin Spice Latte with almond milk instead of regular milk, omitting the whipped cream, and requesting only one pump of pumpkin spice syrup, rather than the usual four. He also suggested adding one pump of sugar-free vanilla syrup.
While Matt praised his version as equally delicious, reactions from viewers were mixed. Some expressed skepticism, arguing that the modifications would dilute the flavour. One commenter remarked, “There is no point riding with one pump of pumpkin; you don’t get the flavour.” Another suggested that patrons should simply indulge in the original drink occasionally, rather than attempting to recreate it in a lower-calorie format.
Despite the criticism, others joined the conversation by sharing their own low-calorie alternatives. One user recommended an iced Americano with one pump of brown sugar and pumpkin cold foam as a refreshing, lower-calorie option.
As the Pumpkin Spice Latte continues to dominate the seasonal beverage landscape, consumers are faced with choices that balance indulgence and health. Whether opting for the classic version or experimenting with modifications, the popularity of this fall favourite shows no signs of waning.
