A criminal complaint has been filed against the company L-E. d.o.o, based in Podgorica, and its authorized representative, K.D., aged 49. The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica is investigating allegations of tax evasion amounting to over €206,000, according to the Police Administration of Montenegro.

The complaint arises from a joint effort by the Economic Crime Department and the Financial Intelligence Sector, which began after months of investigative activities. Authorities suspect that K.D., who serves as the executive director, along with the company, concealed actual revenues during the 2024-2025 business year. They allegedly provided inaccurate and misleading information to the Tax Administration, intending to evade taxes and contributions partially or entirely.

According to officials, this fraudulent activity resulted in a loss of €206,007 to the Montenegrin budget. The investigation is part of a broader initiative to combat economic crime in the region.

Ongoing Efforts Against Economic Crime

The Economic Crime Department emphasizes the importance of continuous collaboration across various sectors to address such financial misconduct. Their efforts are reinforced through a national project known as “Evazija,” which aims to uncover and prosecute individuals involved in commercial activities that undermine the economic system of Montenegro.

Authorities have issued a statement underscoring their commitment to protecting citizens and preserving the integrity of the Montenegrin budget. They are dedicated to strengthening the integrity of institutions while pursuing decisive actions against those engaged in criminal practices.

The police and prosecutor’s office are actively implementing rigorous measures to ensure accountability among those responsible for financial crimes. This case highlights ongoing efforts to enhance transparency in business operations and safeguard public finances in Montenegro.
