Forres Solar Firm AES Shortlisted for Prestigious National Award

A renewable energy company based in Forres, Scotland, has gained recognition as a finalist for a significant national award. AES Solar has been shortlisted for the Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2025, highlighting its status as one of the top employers in the United Kingdom. This accolade places AES Solar in competition with renowned organizations such as the YMCA and Salvation Army Homes.
The company, which holds the title of the UK’s longest-running solar installer, is a finalist in the category for businesses with between 50 and 249 employees, having received an IIP Silver Award. These national awards celebrate organizations that demonstrate excellence in areas such as leadership, employee engagement, and people development.
Jamie Di Sotto, the commercial director of AES Solar, expressed pride in the nomination, stating, “To be recognised at this level is a real honour for AES Solar. Our people are what make our business exceptional, and this nomination celebrates the shared effort behind our success.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to representing the north of Scotland and being part of a community that is setting higher standards for workplace support.
The Investors in People Awards focus on highlighting employers that excel in leadership, learning, well-being, and inclusion. AES Solar’s nomination comes after a period of notable transformation within the company, which included a management buyout in 2023 and the integration of Black Isle Renewables into its operations in 2024. This evolution reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing its workforce.
The company’s achievements have also been validated through its IIP Silver accreditation, which indicates a high level of trust, engagement, and well-being among its employees. This recognition underscores AES Solar’s dedication to fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
The winners of the Investors in People Awards 2025 will be announced during a ceremony in London on November 12, 2025. AES Solar will be represented at the event by Campbell MacLennan, the technical director, and Claire Moyne, the marketing director. This recognition not only reflects the company’s achievements but also its role in advancing the renewable energy sector in Scotland and beyond.
