Terzić Urges City Officials to Honor Employee Winter Aid Commitment
Filip Terzić, the president of the Youth Council of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Montenegro, has called on the city administration of Podgorica, led by Saša Mujović, to fulfill its commitment to provide winter aid to employees. Terzić made these remarks on the social media platform X, emphasizing the pressing need for financial support amid rising living costs.
According to Terzić, the city’s budget for the upcoming year will carry over €38 million due to inefficient budget execution. He criticized the local government for failing to deliver on its promises, stating, “It would be appropriate to respect the promise made and pay winter aid to employees who are currently facing record prices for food, rent, utilities, and parking.”
With inflation and increased costs of living affecting many citizens, Terzić highlighted that employees need this assistance now more than ever. He pointed out that essential services, including waste management, are also set to increase in price, further straining the finances of city residents.
Terzić’s call to action reflects growing frustration among the public regarding the local government’s financial management. He urged the administration to allocate the available funds to help those in need instead of allowing bureaucratic inefficiencies to hinder progress.
As Podgorica grapples with economic challenges, Terzić’s statements underline the urgent need for responsive governance that prioritizes the welfare of its employees and citizens. His remarks serve as a reminder of the responsibilities local leaders hold in supporting their communities during difficult times.
