Niksic Police Seize Illegal Firearms and Ammunition from Local Man

Police in Niksic, Montenegro, have confiscated two illegal firearms and a significant quantity of ammunition during a raid on the residence of a 53-year-old man identified as D.G.. The operation took place as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and combat illegal weapon possession.

During the search, officers uncovered a Zastava M83 revolver, which contained six rounds of ammunition, and a Zastava M57 pistol loaded with seven rounds. In addition, they found 19 rounds of ammunition of unknown caliber. The police reported that these items were held unlawfully.

According to the police statement, the raid was executed by the Niksic Department of Security as part of a broader initiative aimed at preventing violence and ensuring the safety of the community. The operation reflects a commitment to addressing the illegal possession of firearms, which poses a threat to public security.

Legal proceedings may follow, as the Niksic prosecutor’s office has been notified of the seizure. The prosecutor will determine whether to file criminal charges against D.G. based on the evidence obtained during the search.
