Ricky Hatton Leaves £40 Million Legacy to His Children
Former boxing champion Ricky Hatton has left a substantial fortune of £40 million to his three children after establishing a successful property empire. Hatton, who passed away on September 14, 2023, utilized his earnings from a storied boxing career to invest in various real estate ventures, ensuring financial stability for his family.
Hatton was discovered deceased at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, by his manager and close friend, Paul Speak. An inquest into his death is scheduled for March 20, 2024. He is survived by his three children: Campbell, aged 24, and daughters Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12.
According to reports from The Sun, Hatton strategically directed his fight earnings into sound business investments, which included freehold and leasehold properties in Hyde and other regions such as Leicestershire, London, and Kent. The late boxer was dedicated to creating a lasting financial legacy for his children, reflecting his commitment to their future.
Hatton’s unexpected passing triggered nationwide mourning. He was laid to rest in October, with thousands of fans lining the streets of Manchester to pay their respects. Attendees at the memorial service included prominent figures from the sporting world, such as Tyson Fury, Tony Bellew, and Frank Bruno, as well as celebrities like former England cricket captain Andrew Flintoff and former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.
During the service, Hatton’s children delivered poignant eulogies. Campbell expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support their family received, stating, “It was unbelievable to see the amount of love everyone had for my dad.” He described the procession through Manchester as surreal, with crowds filling the streets to honor his father’s legacy.
Ricky Hatton, known for his engaging personality and dedication to boxing, always placed immense value on his fanbase. In a recent interview on Good Morning Britain, Campbell remarked on his father’s pride in the loyal following he cultivated throughout his career, noting that Hatton often emphasized this connection over his titles and accolades.
As the Hatton family navigates this challenging time, they find solace in the community’s outpouring of love and support. The late boxer’s legacy, both in the ring and through his financial foresight, will continue to impact his children and the broader boxing community for years to come.
