Montenegro Government Approves €30.7 Million for Medical Supplies

The Ministry of Health of Montenegro announced that the government has approved a significant procurement initiative aimed at ensuring the continuous supply of medicines and medical materials for healthcare institutions and pharmacies across the country. This decision was made during a cabinet meeting held on October 15, 2025, where the government allocated a total of €30,666,850.31 for these essential supplies.

According to the Ministry of Health, this procurement process is intended to maintain a stable and uninterrupted supply of necessary medications, medical materials, and aids until the end of 2025. The Ministry emphasized that the procurement is being carried out in a planned and coordinated manner to guarantee that citizens have access to all required therapies and healthcare services.

Commitment to Healthcare Stability

The procurement process will be conducted by the Public Health Institution Montefarm, in collaboration with the Health Insurance Fund of Montenegro and the Ministry of Health, following applicable regulations and government conclusions. The Ministry reassured the public that Montefarm is actively continuing its process of acquiring and delivering medicines to both pharmacies and public health institutions.

The Ministry stated, “There are no expected delays in procurement for the remainder of the year.” This reflects the ongoing commitment of the Montenegro government and the Ministry of Health to ensure that all necessary medical supplies are regularly available to healthcare facilities and that citizens can access essential therapies and medical resources.
