Netanyahu Claims Trump’s Return Reshapes Israel’s Global Standing
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the return of Donald Trump to global politics has significantly altered Israel’s position on the international stage. In a strong declaration, Netanyahu said, “Overnight, everything changed.” He highlighted that the recent reelection of Trump facilitated a second hostage deal within weeks, marking a pivotal moment in Israel’s diplomatic efforts.
Netanyahu attributed the renewed alliance with the United States under Trump’s leadership as a catalyst for breaking a prolonged international deadlock. He argued that prior to Trump’s return, global sentiment had increasingly turned against Israel. Many governments, according to Netanyahu, were “succumbing to anti-Semitic mobs” and advocating for an end to the conflict in Gaza without the disarmament of Hamas.
The Israeli Prime Minister emphasized that Trump’s intervention recalibrated the international response, enabling Israel to take more decisive military actions. “Despite all the criticism, all the naysayers, Hamas gave in,” he asserted, crediting the strengthened U.S.-Israel alliance for significant breakthroughs in hostage negotiations and military operations.
Renewed US-Israel Relations and Future Peace Efforts
During his remarks, Netanyahu elaborated on the collaborative efforts between Israel and the United States to ensure the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza. He expressed confidence that these steps would prevent Gaza from posing a future threat to Israel. “We worked closely together to ensure that Gaza would never again pose a threat to Israel,” he stated.
Netanyahu praised Trump’s unique ability to influence global politics, saying, “I’ve never seen anyone move the world so quickly, so decisively, so resolutely.” He described the release of hostages as a moment of “indescribable joy,” symbolizing a crucial turning point for families impacted by the ongoing conflict.
In a reflection of Trump’s influence on Israeli-American relations, Netanyahu reiterated his belief that Trump has surpassed all previous U.S. presidents in support of Israel. “No American president has ever done more for Israel,” he remarked. “And as I said in Washington, it ain’t even close.”
The Prime Minister painted a vivid picture of the dramatic changes in international perspectives since Trump’s return, framing this leadership as essential not only for military success but also for the prospect of lasting peace. He quoted the biblical book of Ecclesiastes, saying, “For everything there is a season. The last two years have been a time for war. The coming years will hopefully be a time for peace.”
As a gesture of gratitude towards Trump, Netanyahu announced plans to nominate him for the Israel Prize, the nation’s highest civilian honor. “When others were fearful, you were bold. When others abandoned us, you stood by our side,” he expressed. He concluded with a warm invitation, saying, “Thank you for paving a path to peace. Welcome to Israel. Welcome to Jerusalem.”
