Tattoo Enthusiast Faces Mixed Reactions to Bold Body Modifications
Renie Diniz, a tattoo enthusiast from São Paulo, Brazil, has gained attention for his striking body modifications, which include devil horns, a forked tongue, and extensive tattoos covering nearly his entire body. Starting his transformation at just 14 years old, Diniz has invested over £50,000 in tattoos, body alterations, and dental procedures. His journey into body modification began after he attended a tattoo convention that sparked a lifelong passion for the art.
Diniz has undergone numerous transformations throughout the years, including the surgical embedding of horns into his skull and the bifurcation of his tongue. He engages in extreme practices such as full body suspension, where hooks are pierced through the skin and he is hoisted into the air. “I have 80% of my body tattooed and all my tattoos are favourites – I love them all,” Diniz stated in an interview with NeedToKnow. He elaborated that the most challenging piece was the one on his face due to the pain involved and the difficulty in finding a suitable design.
Despite his dramatic appearance, Diniz reports that reactions from the public are mixed. He has encountered both admiration and hostility. “There are people who ask me to stop, and some even curse me because of my demonic look,” he explained. “But there are also many who like to take photos and show their love in a different way.” His family and friends have remained supportive despite the backlash he sometimes faces.
### Continued Passion for Body Modifications
Unperturbed by negative reactions, Diniz has plans to continue his body modification journey. He hinted at future tattoos and alterations, stating, “I still have some modifications and tattoos in mind. I’ll leave you curious about them – I don’t want anyone to steal my idea.” His dedication to his craft reflects a broader trend in body modification, where individuals seek to express their identity through extreme alterations.
In a related story, a tattoo artist named Ariel Dejesus has recently gained notoriety on social media for a controversial tattoo cover-up. On her popular TikTok page, she showcased a client’s chest tattoo that had shown considerable signs of wear and poor execution. The original piece featured a design centered around a skull with butterfly-like wings, but the tattoo lacked colour saturation and precision.
Seeking a fresh start just in time for the upcoming Halloween season, the client opted for a cover-up inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Dejesus revealed her new work, featuring main characters Jack Skellington and Sally surrounded by Halloween-themed elements. The video of the cover-up has amassed nearly 855,000 views, illustrating the public’s interest in both innovative tattoo art and body modifications.
Diniz’s experience and Dejesus’s viral video underscore the evolving perceptions of body art and modifications in contemporary culture. As more individuals express themselves through tattoos and body alterations, the conversations surrounding acceptance and appreciation of diverse appearances continue to develop.
