Millie Bobby Brown has publicly addressed her new role as a parent for the first time, emphasizing the importance of keeping her daughter out of the public eye. The Stranger Things star, along with her husband Jake Bongiovi, announced the adoption of their daughter in August 2023. In a recent interview with British Vogue, the 21-year-old actress expressed her commitment to protecting her child’s privacy.

When asked about her daughter’s personality, Brown responded with “fiery conviction,” stating, “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.” She underscored that it is not her place to “purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”

Brown reiterated her dedication to her daughter’s privacy, especially since the baby is currently “so little.” She stated, “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from [the spotlight],” and confirmed there are no plans to reveal her baby’s name until the child is “ready to decide for herself.”

Embracing Parenthood

Despite her focus on privacy, Brown shared her joy about starting a family with Bongiovi. She described this experience as “a beautiful, amazing journey,” reflecting on the lessons her daughter has already taught them. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious,” she remarked. Brown continued, saying that their days are filled with “lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”

The couple has taken a balanced approach to parenting, with Brown noting they share responsibilities equally. “That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad,” she added.

Brown and Bongiovi had previously announced their adoption news through a heartfelt statement on Instagram, revealing, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”

Future Aspirations

During a March episode of the SmartLess podcast, Brown discussed her aspirations to have a large family, emphasizing its significance to her and Bongiovi, both of whom have multiple siblings. She stated, “Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family.”

Brown further shared that Bongiovi had specific views on family planning, saying, “Jake was like, ‘We cannot do that until we get married.’ So that was his thing. And my thing was, ‘I really want a family. I really want a big family.’”

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in May 2024 with close friends and family. They later celebrated with a larger wedding in Italy in September of the same year.

In her recent interview, Brown’s focus on her daughter’s well-being and her commitment to privacy reflects a growing trend among public figures who prioritize family life away from the media’s gaze.
