Jet2 Launches Expanded Winter Flights to Iceland from Stansted

Major airline and holiday company Jet2 has announced an expanded flight programme to Iceland from Stansted Airport in Essex, set to commence in the winter of 2026/27. The new routes will operate with up to four weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays during the peak travel seasons.
Starting on October 16, 2026, and running until November 23, 2026, these services will resume from February 11, 2027, to February 22, 2027, and again from March 25, 2027, to April 12, 2027. This initiative signifies a substantial increase in available flights, particularly during high-demand periods such as the half-term holidays and Easter.
Unique Experiences Await Travelers
Jet2 is offering flexible options for customers, including flight-only tickets or package holidays through Jet2 City Breaks, with a deposit of just £60 per person. This approach allows travelers to tailor their experiences according to their preferences, whether they seek a brief getaway or a more extended exploration of the country.
Strong Demand for Icelandic Destinations
According to Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the demand for flights and city breaks to Iceland remains robust. He stated, “Our programme of flights and city breaks to Iceland continues to be hugely popular, thanks to its abundance of natural wonders, such as the Northern Lights, Golden Circle, and Blue Lagoon.” He further emphasized the appeal of Iceland as a unique winter destination, noting Reykjavik as the world’s northernmost capital.
Heapy highlighted that the upcoming winter programme from Stansted Airport provides a diverse range of services for customers and independent travel agents. This expansion not only enhances travel options but also strengthens Jet2’s position as a leading provider of winter holiday experiences.
With the launch of these new routes, Jet2 is well-positioned to cater to the growing interest in Iceland, providing travelers with easy access to one of the world’s most intriguing destinations during the winter months.
