Aldi Announces Changes to Popular Middle Aisle Schedule

Aldi, the German discount supermarket chain, has announced a temporary alteration to its well-known middle aisle, which features the popular Specialbuy products. Over the next couple of weeks, customers in the UK will experience a shift in the regular schedule due to upcoming bank holidays and planned store closures.

The middle aisle has become a favorite among shoppers, showcasing an array of unique and practical items at competitive prices. The Specialbuy section typically updates its inventory every Thursday and Sunday. However, with Christmas Day falling on a Thursday this year, Aldi will not introduce any new festive products before the weekend. An Aldi spokesperson confirmed, “The next Specialbuy release is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, so we’ll see new stock landing after the Christmas period.”

The disruption to the schedule continues into the New Year, as New Year’s Day also occurs on a Thursday. Consequently, the first Specialbuy release of 2026 will be postponed. Aldi has outlined that shoppers can anticipate two releases next week, with new items arriving on Friday, January 2, and again on January 4.

As the new year approaches, Aldi’s middle aisles will be stocked with products aimed at helping customers keep their homes fresh and clean. Among the items available will be a three-tier airer, various laundry accessories, and a spray mop. Additionally, several candle options will be featured for those browsing the middle aisle.

Aldi has also reminded customers that their stores will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Furthermore, all locations will remain shuttered on New Year’s Day. Shoppers are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly to take full advantage of the upcoming Specialbuy offerings.
