Lauren Goodger Shares Candid Surgery Update and Health Warning
Reality television star Lauren Goodger has taken to social media to share a health update following a surgical procedure this week. The 39-year-old, known for her role on The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE), revealed that she underwent surgery to remove three moles, with one being described as “deep rooted.” Following the procedure, she is now awaiting biopsy results.
In her posts, Goodger indicated that one of the moles had changed during her pregnancy, prompting her visit to a hospital in Essex. She posted a selfie while in a medical gown and later shared a graphic image of her surgery, which included visible stitches and blood. In her message, she emphasized the importance of monitoring one’s skin and checking for changes in moles.
Health Warning and Personal Experience
In a candid message to her followers, Goodger wrote, “I’ve had 3 moles removed, this one was cut out and removed as was deep rooted being sent off to the lab.” She urged her audience to “check your moles,” highlighting that her moles had changed during her pregnancy.
Her posts serve as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with skin changes. Goodger’s warning aligns with advice from health organizations. According to the NHS, new moles or changes in existing ones can be signs of melanoma, a form of skin cancer. The NHS advises that regular checks are essential, especially for individuals with numerous moles.
Goodger is not alone in her effort to raise awareness. Last month, fellow reality star Zara McDermott also encouraged her followers to monitor their skin for signs of cancer, stating, “Check your body as often as possible.”
