Joy Taylor Departing Fox Sports After Cancellation of Three Shows
Joy Taylor is leaving Fox Sports following the network’s decision to cancel three of its shows, including the popular program “Speak,” which she co-hosted. This move comes just months after Taylor faced serious allegations in a lawsuit that claimed she used sexual relationships to advance her career. The network’s cancellations also include two morning shows, “Breakfast Ball” and “The Facility,” as reported by The Athletic.
After nearly a decade with Fox Sports, Taylor’s contract was not renewed, marking a significant shift in her career. The decision follows a period of turmoil for the network, with all three shows reportedly struggling to attract a substantial audience. Taylor co-hosted “Speak” alongside former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson and NBA star Paul Pierce, contributing to its visibility in the sports media landscape.
The controversy surrounding Taylor began earlier this year when she was accused by an ex-colleague of exploiting sexual relationships to climb the corporate ladder. The lawsuit also included allegations that Taylor dismissed the concerns of a make-up artist, Noushin Faraji, who reported being sexually assaulted by a senior programming executive, Charlie Dixon. Taylor has publicly denied these allegations.
In a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Taylor spoke about the emotional toll of the lawsuit on her life, describing the experience as one filled with “dark times,” “grief,” and “trauma.” She expressed gratitude for her family, friends, and mentors who have supported her during this challenging period.
“I won’t say that there were not dark times, but I’m very blessed to have an amazing family and amazing friends and mentors,” she stated. Taylor emphasized the importance of self-acceptance, acknowledging that the process of healing involves a journey through complex emotions.
Despite the surrounding controversy, Taylor continued to host “Speak” and her podcast, “Two Personal,” where she has openly discussed her personal life and relationships. She explained her decision to remain visible during this tumultuous time, stating, “It was intentional to show up as I did.”
As Fox Sports looks to restructure its programming, popular shows such as “The Herd” and “First Things First” with Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes will continue as planned. The network may introduce new content to replace the cancelled programs, signaling a potential shift in its strategic direction.
Taylor’s departure from Fox Sports marks the end of an era for the network and leaves her future in the industry uncertain. As she navigates this transitional phase, the focus remains on her resilience and the support she has received from those around her.
