Stadium Experience has announced the appointment of Henry Crane as the new Chair of Public Catering for the not-for-profit association. Crane, who has played a significant role as the Public Catering Manager at MKM Stadium, brings over a decade of experience within the organization. His leadership is expected to drive forward the association’s initiatives in catering for stadium venues across the UK.

Crane’s Background and Achievements

Henry Crane’s extensive background includes notable achievements, such as leading his team to win their second Best Retail Catering Award in three years at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards. This recognition underscores his commitment to excellence in stadium catering, a focus that aligns with Stadium Experience’s mission to elevate industry standards.

Founded in 2002, Stadium Experience aims to promote stadiums as premier venues for conferences, meetings, and events. The organization expanded its focus in 2017 to include a dedicated public catering arm, providing a platform for venues to collaborate and share best practices. Crane’s role will enhance this initiative, allowing him to represent public catering professionals at stadiums nationwide.

Crane succeeds Nav Daine, who founded and led the Public Catering group for seven years. Under Daine’s leadership, the group became a vital resource for professionals in the field. Crane expressed his gratitude, stating, “I’d like to thank Nav Daine for his outstanding leadership of the Public Catering group within Stadium Experience. His dedication and passion have made a lasting impact on many, including myself.”

Future Goals and Vision

As Chair of Public Catering, Crane will join the Stadium Experience Leadership Team, which also includes industry leaders such as Collette Salmon (Chair), David Timms (Vice-Chair), and Sue France (Treasurer). This team is tasked with shaping the strategic direction of the association and fostering collaboration among members.

Crane’s vision includes building upon the strong foundations laid by Daine and exploring innovative ways to enhance value for members. He aims to continue the spirit of collaboration that has characterized the group, fostering an environment where professionals can share knowledge and ideas.

Collette Salmon remarked on Crane’s appointment, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Henry to the Leadership Team. His groundbreaking work at MKM Stadium has set a high standard, and we look forward to seeing his innovation and expertise shared more broadly across our network.”

Crane’s journey began over fourteen years ago with a brief stint assisting the matchday hospitality team at the then KC Stadium. His enthusiasm quickly led to a permanent position, where he later discovered his passion for public catering. His approach has included introducing street food concepts and building a strong social media presence, which has resonated well with fans.

With Crane at the helm, Stadium Experience is poised to continue its trajectory of excellence in public catering, enhancing the experience for fans in venues across the UK.
