Ibru Urges APC Unity for Tinubu and Oborevwori Ahead of 2027 Elections

Olorogun Oskar Ibru, Chairman and CEO of the Ibru Organization, has called for strong support among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. This appeal comes as the political landscape prepares for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Ibru made his remarks during a gathering in Ughelli over the weekend.
At the event, Ibru emphasized the importance of party unity and urged stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, and youth leaders to enhance their political engagement. He highlighted the need to strengthen the party’s foundation at the local level in order to secure victories in the forthcoming elections.
Ibru characterized both Tinubu and Oborevwori as visionary leaders whose policies contribute significantly to long-term development in the region. He addressed criticisms directed at Oborevwori’s political trajectory, affirming the governor’s dedication and extensive experience within the political system.
“People talk about my brother, Sheriff. They forget that he’s a man that has gone through all the stages. He didn’t just come out one day and say ‘I want to be Governor’. He went through the process step by step. He knows the system,” Ibru noted, underscoring Oborevwori’s qualifications for the role.
The chairman expressed discontent with narratives suggesting that Oborevwori defected for opportunistic reasons. He stated, “He knows what he is doing and what is best for you, for me, and for Deltans,” reinforcing his belief in the governor’s commitment to the people of Delta State.
In his address, Ibru called on party loyalists to prioritize values such as unity and discipline. He emphasized that grassroots mobilization is essential for ensuring a strong showing in the 2027 elections. The billionaire investor also encouraged continued support for ongoing initiatives at both the federal and state levels, recognizing the critical role such programs play in community development.
As the political landscape evolves, Ibru’s rallying cry seeks to galvanize APC members and fortify their resolve in supporting both Tinubu and Oborevwori as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming electoral contest. The focus on unity and strategic mobilization reflects a broader understanding of the importance of grassroots engagement in achieving electoral success.
