Alabama Shakes to Headline UK Shows for First Time in a Decade
Alabama Shakes will headline their first UK shows in a decade, marking their return with a performance at The Mount in Wasing on July 2, 2026. This announcement follows the reveal that rising star Self Esteem will perform at the same venue on July 4. The band joins a lineup that also includes MIKA on June 26 and Pixies on June 27.
The Mount, nestled within the picturesque Wasing estate, is renowned for its stunning natural surroundings. Guests are welcomed by enchanting woodland trails and vibrant wildflowers, creating a unique and immersive experience for concertgoers. The venue is designed to foster a deep connection between the audience and the music, making it an ideal setting for landmark performances.
Alabama Shakes, formed in Athens, Alabama, features vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell. The band burst onto the music scene in 2012 with their debut album, Boys & Girls, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and garnered multiple GRAMMY nominations. Critics praised the album, with Rolling Stone naming the lead single, Hold On, the best song of 2012.
The band’s second album, Sound & Color, released a decade ago, marked a significant evolution in their sound. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won GRAMMY Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The first single, Don’t Wanna Fight, secured wins in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories. Both albums have received Platinum certification from the RIAA.
Recently, Alabama Shakes shared their first new music in over ten years with the release of the single Another Life and completed a successful North American tour. Their return to the UK is highly anticipated by fans eager to witness their dynamic performances.
Tickets for the concerts will be available through Ticketmaster. The presale for O2 customers begins on December 3 at 10:00, followed by a Ticketmaster presale on December 4 at 10:00. General tickets will go on sale on December 5 at 10:00.
As the excitement builds for these performances, Alabama Shakes is set to reclaim their place in the spotlight, showcasing their captivating sound in one of the UK’s most beautiful outdoor venues. The concert series promises an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
