EA Sports has officially announced the top ten running backs in its highly anticipated title, Madden NFL 26. Leading the list is Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles, who not only graces the cover of the game but also holds the coveted top rank with an impressive rating of 99 Overall (OVR). The competition remains fierce as new talent emerges, reshaping the landscape of the game.

Among the seasoned players, Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens maintains a strong presence, ranked second with a 98 OVR. Henry has been a fixture in the Madden series since debuting in Madden 17, showcasing a remarkable journey from a 75 OVR rating to joining the 99 Club. Last year, he narrowly missed a repeat appearance in the 99 Club, finishing just one point behind Barkley, who had been his closest competitor in Madden 25.

New Faces on the Rise

Making a significant impact in this year’s rankings is Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions, who lands in third place with a 95 OVR. Gibbs debuted with a strong rating of 83 OVR in Madden 24 and quickly ascended into the 90s in the following edition. His rapid rise signifies a bright future in the league, paralleling the trajectory of fellow running back Bijan Robinson from the Atlanta Falcons. Robinson ranks fifth with a 92 OVR, having also made his debut alongside Gibbs and steadily improving since then.

Notably, Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers, a two-time 99 Club member, comes in fourth with a rating of 94 OVR. Despite a slight drop from his previous year’s rating, McCaffrey remains a dominant force with the highest overall attribute points among all running backs.

The complete ranking of the top ten running backs in Madden NFL 26 is as follows:

1. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: 99 OVR
2. Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens: 98 OVR
3. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions: 95 OVR
4. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers: 94 OVR
5. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons: 92 OVR
6. Joe Mixon, Houston Texans: 91 OVR
7. Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers: 90 OVR
8. James Cook, Buffalo Bills: 89 OVR
9. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts: 88 OVR
10. Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks: 88 OVR

As the gaming community gears up for the release of Madden NFL 26, these rankings reflect not only player performance but also the evolving dynamics of the NFL. With established stars and emerging talents, fans can expect an exciting season ahead, both on the field and in the virtual arena.
