Fans Surprised by BBC Star’s Hidden Nude Art Career
The new season of The Traitors premiered on January 1, 2024, introducing audiences to 22 new contestants, including Matthew Hyndburn, a 35-year-old creative director from Edinburgh. While viewers expected drama and deception, many were taken aback by Hyndburn’s unexpected passion for performing nude headstands in scenic locations, a venture that has garnered him a unique following and a profitable side business.
Hyndburn has been selling his artistic photographs, which feature him in various breathtaking poses, with a single framed piece priced at a striking £1,180. His work is currently showcased at Bard Scotland, an art gallery that features several of his creations, according to Wales Online. To promote his artistic side, he maintains a dedicated Instagram account named @headstandmatty, which has attracted nearly 17,000 followers. In a playful nod to his artistic pursuits, his primary account @yermatty includes a biography that reads, “If you know you know,” directing followers to his uncensored headstand page.
Before entering the castle as a contestant, Hyndburn shared his aspirations for the potential £120,000 prize. He expressed a desire to purchase a cottage in the Scottish Highlands, a location that holds special significance for him: “I go up there so much, and I just kind of imagine myself there.” His vision extends beyond real estate; he also referenced his engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting his advocacy for marriage equality in Northern Ireland.
Reflecting on his journey, Hyndburn stated, “At the time I was campaigning, I didn’t think that I wanted to get married, but now I feel like I do.” He alluded to the significance of his story, noting, “It’s not cool to go against the gay who wants to get married!” He hinted that he may consider having a wedding back on his family farm in Northern Ireland if he wins.
This season of The Traitors introduces an intriguing twist: an additional Traitor whose identity remains concealed from both contestants and viewers. The show continues to air each evening at 20:00 on BBC One and is available for streaming on iPlayer, promising more surprises and strategic gameplay in the episodes to come.
