Manchester United Eyes Seven Transfers Before Summer Deadline

As the summer transfer window gains momentum, Manchester United is poised to complete up to seven player transfers before the deadline next month. With the final month of the window approaching, clubs are under pressure to finalize deals. United has already made significant moves, both in acquiring new talent and offloading players.
Earlier this week, Bryan Mbeumo became the latest addition to United’s squad, joining from Brentford for an initial fee of £65 million. He follows Matheus Cunha, who arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this summer for £62.5 million. These strategic signings reflect United’s ongoing rebuild as they aim for a stronger performance in the upcoming season.
In terms of departures, the most notable exit has been Marcus Rashford, who has transferred to Barcelona on a season-long loan after a stint with Aston Villa last season. The club anticipates further movement in the coming weeks, particularly as they seek to adjust their squad and potentially raise funds for additional acquisitions.
Potential Incomings and Outgoings
United is reportedly exploring a double transfer deal, targeting both a striker and a goalkeeper. They have shown interest in Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins, both currently with Aston Villa. Martinez’s high wage demands—reported to be up to £200,000 per week—present a challenge for United, who are cautious about inflating their wage bill. Any flexibility in Martinez’s contract negotiations could alter the club’s approach.
While United’s interest in Watkins has not yet led to direct communication with Villa about a potential transfer, the club remains hopeful. Villa has publicly stated that Watkins is not for sale, but the dynamics could shift if an attractive offer is presented.
On the outgoing front, Antony is expected to leave, having spent the latter part of last season on loan at Real Betis, where he earned a strong following. Reports indicate that clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in acquiring him, and United aims to secure a substantial fee.
Another player on the move could be Alejandro Garnacho, who did not travel with the squad for their pre-season tour in Asia. Both Chelsea and Napoli expressed interest in Garnacho during the previous transfer window.
Further exits may include Jadon Sancho, who returned to United after a loan spell with Chelsea. Despite the club’s hopes for a permanent deal with Chelsea, Juventus has emerged as a potential suitor for the winger.
Lastly, Tyrell Malacia is also likely to depart. After a loan at PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch club opted against a permanent transfer, leaving Malacia in search of a new opportunity. There are also reports, particularly from The Sun, suggesting that Luke Shaw may receive offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, and he is open to considering potential moves.
As the transfer window approaches its conclusion, Manchester United is positioned for a busy final month. With several potential deals in the pipeline, both incoming and outgoing, the club’s strategies will be closely monitored by fans and analysts alike.
