Las Vegas Strip Club Offers Free Dances Amid Government Shutdown

A prominent Las Vegas strip club, Crazy Horse 3, has launched a campaign to support U.S. federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown. As of October 1, 2023, thousands of government workers are either furloughed or working without pay due to a lack of agreement among Senators on a necessary funding deal. In response, the club is offering free lap dances to all unpaid and furloughed staff who present a valid government-issued ID.

This initiative, branded as ‘Strippers Against Shutdowns,’ aims to provide a moment of relief and entertainment to those impacted by the political stalemate. Crazy Horse 3’s owner, Nando Sostilio, expressed that the move reflects the spirit of Las Vegas, emphasizing the need to care for hard-working individuals during challenging times. He stated, “Las Vegas has always been about taking care of people who work hard. Right now, a lot of our instrumental federal employees who keep this country running are feeling the impact of politics putting paychecks on pause.”

The current shutdown marks the first such event in nearly seven years, disrupting non-essential government operations. Iconic institutions such as Smithsonian museums, research centers, and the National Zoo have temporarily closed their doors. Previous shutdowns have also led to significant air travel disruptions due to staffing shortages.

Lawmakers failed to pass a Republican proposal that would have kept the government funded at existing levels, falling short of the necessary 60 votes with a 55-45 tally in the Senate.

In the world of entertainment, Crazy Horse 3 is not new to creative initiatives aimed at increasing patron engagement. Earlier this year, the venue introduced an interactive VIP room featuring a Wii console, a PlayStation, karaoke, and even a Twister game, encouraging guests to enjoy a unique experience. This interactive space demands a minimum spending of $500 (approximately £403) on beverages, and access is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sostilio remarked on the innovative approach, saying, “By blending interactive party amenities like karaoke with strippers and video games for thrilling gaming duels with your favorite entertainer, we’ve created a one-of-a-kind environment that combines the allure of the world’s most stunning adult entertainers with a modern patron’s craving for both luxury and excitement.”

As the government shutdown continues to affect numerous federal employees, Crazy Horse 3’s initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and the role of entertainment in providing relief during tough times.
