A heart-wrenching story unfolded in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, where Jade Tabrar, 37, tragically passed away just hours after marrying her long-time partner, Adam Kemp, 42. The couple exchanged vows on November 3, 2023, as Jade bravely battled advanced stomach cancer.

Jade’s diagnosis came in August 2023, following significant weight loss and severe stomach pains during her pregnancy. Initially, doctors attributed her symptoms to the physical strain of pregnancy. However, after giving birth to a healthy baby boy in February 2023, her health deteriorated. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 stomach cancer, which rapidly progressed to Stage 4.

Upon learning that Jade had only three months to live, the couple made the emotional decision to marry sooner than planned. They had originally intended to tie the knot on their 20th anniversary, November 21, 2026. Adam reflected on their relationship, saying, “We always knew we wanted to get married – we were soulmates and wanted to be together forever.”

As their wedding day approached, friends and healthcare staff rallied to organize the ceremony. Adam described the rush to arrange for a registrar, wedding attire, and a small gathering of supportive friends. Jade, who was adopted and had no immediate family, was particularly excited about having Adam’s father walk her down the aisle, wearing a cherished bridesmaid dress from his own wedding. Due to her health challenges, her friends altered the dress to fit her.

The ceremony took place at their home, with Jade being wheeled in to join Adam. During the vows, Jade reached up to brush away Adam’s tears, reassuring him with her love amidst the emotional atmosphere. “Everyone there was in floods of tears and said they have never seen a wedding filled with so much love,” Adam recounted.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a buffet while Adam took Jade to rest on the sofa. They shared tender moments and reminisced about their life together. Shortly after their guests departed, Jade’s condition worsened. Adam called Willen Hospice, who confirmed that time was short.

Jade passed away at 22:45, cradled in Adam’s arms. Stricken with grief, Adam has since left his job to care for their five children. Despite the devastation, he finds comfort in knowing they had their special day.

Friends have rallied to support the family during this difficult time, increasing the goal of Jade’s original fundraising page on GoFundMe to £4,000. The funds aim to assist with funeral costs and provide for the children in the months ahead.

Adam expressed his enduring love for Jade, stating, “It was the most amazing day – such a perfect day. I got to finally marry the most beautiful woman in the world. I love you forever and always, Jade Louise Kemp.”
