RFK Jr.’s Unconventional Flirting Revealed in Controversial Book
A new book titled American Santos by journalist Olivia Nuzzi has brought to light unconventional and controversial methods of flirting allegedly employed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The memoir provides an intimate glimpse into the dynamic between Nuzzi and Kennedy during the 2024 election cycle, following Nuzzi’s dismissal from her position at the New Yorker magazine amid claims of a personal affair with the political figure.
Nuzzi’s account details some of Kennedy’s more peculiar romantic gestures, which she describes as “cringe poetry.” Although he is not directly named in the text, Kennedy’s presence permeates the narrative. The book has faced criticism, with some reviewers, including Mother Jones, labeling it as “unreadable.” Nonetheless, it explores the complexities of Kennedy’s character, including his reported poetic declarations and use of psychedelics.
According to Nuzzi, Kennedy allegedly expressed deep affection through verse, despite being married to actress Cheryl Hines. One particularly vivid example of his poetry includes lines like “I mean to squeeze your cheeks to force open your mouth… I am a river. You are my canyon. I mean to flow through you.” These poetic expressions have raised eyebrows, especially given the context of his marital status.
The book also delves into Kennedy’s reported use of the hallucinogenic drug DMT, which he allegedly consumed in private while his wife was away. Nuzzi describes DMT as leading users to experience “ego death” within a short time frame. When questioned about the effects, Kennedy reportedly referred to it as “just your classic psychedelic experience.”
Nuzzi also touches on less flattering aspects of their interactions, including Kennedy’s alleged reliance on other substances that he denied when confronted. She writes about his earnest claims of wanting to have a child with her and how he sent her an “acid note” in response to the scandal surrounding their relationship.
The memoir reveals a complicated blend of professional admiration and personal entanglement, with Nuzzi expressing both affection and discomfort regarding their exchanges. She recalls cringing at Kennedy’s jokes about having a “worm in his brain,” stating, “I loved his brain. I hated the idea of an intruder therein.”
As the narrative unfolds, it also details Kennedy’s threats to involve the FBI over leaks concerning their relationship, particularly when her former fiancé, Ryan Lizza, was implicated in sharing scandalous details with the media.
The controversy surrounding American Santos has prompted significant public interest, especially given Kennedy’s prominent role in American politics and his family’s legacy. As the fallout from the revelations continues, a spokesperson for Kennedy has been approached for comment but has yet to respond.
This intriguing account highlights the intersections of personal relationships and public life, illustrating how political figures navigate their private affairs in the glare of the public eye.
