Popular Twitch streamer and founder of 100 Thieves, Nadeshot (real name Matthew Haag), has publicly criticized the rising incidence of cheating in the game ARC Raiders. He claimed the situation has left a disappointing impression on players, asserting that the level of cheating in the game is “worse than peak Call of Duty.” Despite his frustrations, Nadeshot acknowledged that he still considers the game one of his favorites.

Nadeshot Expresses Frustration Over Cheating

Nadeshot took to social media platform X to express his discontent with the current state of ARC Raiders. In a lengthy post, he described his experience in the game over the past week as “hell,” noting that while he loves the game, the rampant cheating has made gameplay increasingly unenjoyable. “Just to be clear, I love this game and think it’s already moved into my personal top 10 of all time,” he stated.

He elaborated on the challenges he faced, mentioning encounters with “invincible opponents” and players with suspiciously accurate aim. Nadeshot highlighted that these experiences detract from the reward of playing and contribute to a frustrating gaming environment. “I can’t get through an entire raid without a Steam profile that is Level 0 or an account that has multiple game and VAC bans on record,” he remarked.

Suggestions for Improvement and Developer Response

Nadeshot offered several recommendations to Embark Studios, the developers behind ARC Raiders. Among his suggestions were legal actions against cheat sellers and the implementation of robust anti-cheat measures. He emphasized the need for the developers to address the cheating issue, stating, “I’m at war and I’m getting absolutely pummeled for eight hours straight every day.” He described the repetitive cycle of looting, crafting, and resource investment that culminates in disappointing raids due to cheating.

Reflecting on the broader issue, he acknowledged that cheating in video games has become pervasive, posing significant challenges for developers in keeping up with cheat providers. “One day I’ll come to terms with the fact cheating in video games has reached the point in time where it is impossible for the devs to keep up with the providers, but until then, I’m just going to keep complaining,” Nadeshot concluded.

As of now, Embark Studios has not publicly responded to Nadeshot’s comments. Cheating continues to be a hot topic within the ARC Raiders community, especially as the game sees an increase in player numbers. The discussion surrounding cheating reflects broader concerns in the gaming industry, where maintaining fair play is becoming increasingly challenging.
