AJA Enhances Video Streaming with Advanced Technology Solutions
As consumer expectations for video quality rise, AJA Video Systems is addressing the need for reliable streaming solutions with its innovative BRIDGE LIVE technology. The demand for seamless video delivery is particularly crucial in sectors such as broadcasting and education, where lag time or transmission failures can significantly impact viewer experience.
Andy Bellamy, EMEA technical director at AJA, highlighted the increasing focus on streaming technology during the recent Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) event. He stated, “Streaming was a huge focus for us at ISE; we saw a lot of interest in technology like our BRIDGE LIVE range.” This product line is designed to deliver high-density, broadcast-quality streaming, capable of meeting the growing demand for higher resolutions and multiple streaming outputs.
With the industry pivoting from HD to 4K resolutions and the desire for enhanced support for HDR, the BRIDGE LIVE system offers a comprehensive solution. Its ability to output multiple streams at varying qualities ensures that content, such as corporate news bulletins, can be delivered flawlessly across different platforms, from large video walls to social media streams.
The importance of video codecs in streaming cannot be understated. BRIDGE LIVE supports widely used standards like H.264 and H.265, which balance quality and bandwidth efficiency. Additionally, users can access alternative codecs such as NDI for in-house content sharing, with advanced options like JPEG 2000 and JPEG XS available through a subscription for those prioritizing lower latency and higher quality.
Streamlined Solutions for Global Operations
AJA’s technology addresses the complexities of managing multilingual audio in real-time. This is particularly beneficial for companies with offices across different countries. Bellamy explained, “If you’re a German company with offices in the UK, France, and Spain, you can produce audio in different languages and map it onto the content in real-time as it’s streamed.” This feature eliminates the need for multiple mixing desks, simplifying operations and enhancing efficiency.
BRIDGE LIVE also ensures that any metadata within video content is preserved and transmitted accurately. As Bellamy noted, “It’s fully compatible with electronic programme guides and closed captions.” This capability guarantees that subtitles and EPGs follow through seamlessly, maintaining the integrity of the broadcast.
The technology also supports remote collaboration, which is increasingly vital in today’s working environment. For educational institutions with satellite campuses, BRIDGE LIVE acts as a bi-directional encoder/decoder, facilitating shared workflows and collaborative content development. “You can share workflows and develop content together as though you were all in the same room,” Bellamy added, highlighting the system’s robust design for continuous operation.
AJA Video Systems has been a leader in the broadcast technology sector for more than three decades, ensuring that its products are engineered for reliability and performance. With an emphasis on delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of the industry, AJA continues to play a pivotal role in the future of video streaming technology.
