Ludwig Discusses Multistreaming and Wild Charity Stunts

Streaming star Ludwig recently shared insights on his charitable endeavors and his transition to multistreaming during a visit to the set of State Farm’s annual competition show, Gamerhood. The fourth season of the show features well-known influencers competing in various challenges to raise funds for their chosen charities. This year, participants including Mark Phillips and Berleezy will play popular games such as Marvel Rivals and Fortnite for a chance to win over $100,000 for charitable causes.
The competition, which will air on Twitch and YouTube every Friday at 6 PM ET starting on August 1, 2023, not only includes virtual battles but also physical challenges that test the competitors’ mental and physical abilities. Ludwig is returning to compete for the third time, and his experiences with fundraising have been both memorable and impactful.
Reflecting on his most outrageous charity stunts, Ludwig recounted a remarkable event from 2022 when he trapped himself in a glass box for 50 hours. This stunt raised $300,000 for two organizations: Alveus Sanctuary and No Kid Hungry. During this live stream, dubbed Subathon 2.0, he faced numerous humorous challenges, including getting a bowl cut and wearing a clown suit.
When asked about the craziest thing he has done for charity, Ludwig cited another grueling experience. “I played through all of Rock Band,” he explained. “It took about 12 hours and we raised $250,000 for the LA wildfires. We had a wheel that dictated challenges, and I ended up eating some horrendous things while singing badly.” His commitment to charitable causes is evident, as he enjoys participating in events like Gamerhood and organizing the Streamer Games, which features Twitch’s top broadcasters competing in various athletic events.
Ludwig’s recent transition to multistreaming has also garnered attention. Previously hesitant about the concept, he now embraces the advantages it brings. “I think multi-streaming is weird,” he said, acknowledging that it varies in effectiveness for different streamers. He found the video-on-demand (VOD) service on Twitch lacking, noting that the platform’s features have declined over time. “Streaming on YouTube allows for a permanent catalog, which viewers appreciate,” he added. While Ludwig does not primarily seek increased viewership through YouTube, he values the accessibility it provides.
As Ludwig gears up for the upcoming season of Gamerhood, he remains enthusiastic about the potential for large-scale charitable events. “We’re going to continue to do big events,” he promised, expressing a desire to introduce new initiatives alongside existing fundraisers.
Fans can look forward to watching Gamerhood and its blend of competitive gaming and charitable collaboration, all while witnessing Ludwig’s exciting journey as he navigates the multistreaming landscape. With his passion for giving back and engaging with his audience, Ludwig continues to make a significant impact in the world of streaming and charity.
