Glasgow’s Reardon’s Snooker Bar Hits Market for £3.25 Million

A well-known pool hall in Glasgow, Reardon’s Snooker and Sports Bar, has been listed for sale with an asking price of £3.25 million. Located prominently on Hope Street, the venue is situated on the ground floor of Glasgow Central Station, just a short walk from Buchanan Street. The Links family, who have owned the business for many years, are now passing the reins as they approach retirement.
The sale encompasses not only the Hope Street site but also the company’s second location on Pollokshaws Road. According to CDLH Leisure & Hospitality Surveyors, this presents a significant opportunity for potential buyers to expand the brand across the UK.
Features of a Well-Established Venue
The interior of Reardon’s is designed for both leisure and entertainment, featuring a spacious open-plan bar area that includes a large timber bar and seating for approximately 40 patrons. A highlight of the venue is its collection of 20 pool tables, along with various gaming and amusement machines that attract a diverse clientele.
At the rear, the venue houses four full-sized snooker tables set beneath vaulted ceilings, alongside a dedicated area known as the ‘Snooker Snug,’ which contains six additional tables. The main bar area also accommodates two dart lanes and an American Pool section featuring 16 pool tables.
The property is equipped with essential amenities, including a commercial kitchen, accessible toilets, and a beer cellar, making it suitable for continued operation as a licensed sports bar.
Opportunities for Growth
The Links family has expressed that the decision to sell was not made lightly, as they have developed a beloved establishment over the years. The listing details highlight the potential for new ownership to enhance and expand the brand, which is already firmly established in the local community.
The estate agents emphasized that the business would appeal to both individuals looking to take over a historic venue and to existing operators or venture capital firms aiming to integrate a profitable business into a broader portfolio.
Offers are invited for the venue, with a starting price of £3,250,000. The sale is positioned as an opportunity for the right buyer to acquire a well-respected business with promising growth prospects in the competitive leisure and hospitality sector.
