Simon Leviev’s Current Life: Where is the Tinder Swindler Now?

Simon Leviev, known as the “Tinder Swindler,” has resurfaced in the public eye with reports detailing his current life in Dubai. Following the release of the Netflix docu-series Love Con Revenge, which features Cecilie Fjellhøy—one of Leviev’s many victims—there is renewed interest in his whereabouts and activities since his criminal exploits.
Cecilie Fjellhøy’s story came to light in the 2022 documentary The Tinder Swindler, where she detailed how Leviev defrauded her of approximately $250,000. Now, she is leveraging her experiences to assist other victims of romance scams, partnering with private investigator Brianne Joseph in the new Netflix series. The show aims to empower individuals who have fallen prey to similar deceit.
Reports suggest that Leviev, aged 34, is currently residing in Dubai. Earlier this year, he was allegedly preparing to launch a new business venture, described as a “multi-billion dollar” project. However, specifics about this venture have yet to emerge. The documentary revealed that Leviev, whose real name is Shimon Yehuda Hayut, scammed women out of nearly $10 million between 2017 and 2019, using various aliases and a polished Tinder profile to lure victims.
Leviev’s criminal history includes a conviction in Israel in 2011 for cashing stolen checks. In 2015, he was sentenced in Finland for defrauding three women. He later changed his legal name to Simon Leviev and continued his fraudulent activities across Europe. His criminal activities culminated in his arrest by Interpol in Greece in 2019, where he was apprehended for using a forged passport. He received a 15-month prison sentence in Israel but was released early due to the COVID-19 pandemic, serving only five months.
Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, Leviev attempted to pivot to a television career and claimed he was not a scammer. In a recent TikTok video posted by Ahlan Dubai, he was seen emerging from a car in Dubai, prompting speculation about his business endeavors. The video claimed he was set to unveil his next project soon, but there has been no substantial update on this since.
Both his Instagram and TikTok accounts are currently private, raising further questions about his ongoing activities. As Love Con Revenge continues to stream on Netflix, viewers are left wondering about the future of the man behind the infamous Tinder swindles. The series not only highlights the resilience of victims like Fjellhøy but also serves as a reminder of the dangers that exist in the world of online dating.
As the saga of Simon Leviev unfolds, it remains to be seen how his past will impact his future, and whether he will indeed launch the ambitious venture he has hinted at. For those interested in similar stories, updates on other scamming cases are also available, exploring the broader implications of fraud in the digital age.
