Armed Police Remove Drunk Stag Party from Ryanair Flight

A Ryanair flight from Leeds Bradford Airport to Alicante, Spain, witnessed a chaotic scene on the evening of September 4, 2023, when armed police intervened to remove two intoxicated passengers. The incident, which unnerved fellow travelers, prompted cabin crew to call for police assistance while the flight was still in the air.
Footage captured by bystanders shows officers from the Guardia Civil boarding the aircraft upon its arrival in Alicante. The video reveals a confrontation involving one of the men, who resisted removal and appeared to grapple with an officer. Witnesses reported a mix of shock and frustration as the situation unfolded, with one passenger urging police to “knock him out.”
According to a traveler on board, the two men were part of a stag party and displayed disruptive behavior both during the flight and while waiting to board at Leeds. The individual stated, “They were getting rowdy and lairy towards the end of the flight, and the crew called ahead for police back-up. Everyone was fed up with them by the end. It was carnage.”
The flight, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, landed at 19:22 local time, where law enforcement awaited its arrival to manage the situation. Ryanair confirmed the incident, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy regarding passenger misconduct. A spokesperson for the airline stated, “The crew of this flight from Leeds Bradford to Alicante called ahead for police assistance after two passengers became disruptive onboard. The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Alicante Airport and these passengers were removed.”
The airline emphasized its commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful travel environment for all passengers and crew members. “Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly behavior,” the spokesperson added.
This incident is part of a broader concern regarding disruptive behavior by travelers, especially during peak holiday seasons. Just months prior, another flight operated by EasyJet faced similar challenges when a group of loud passengers transformed a flight to Ibiza into a chaotic scene. One passenger described feeling “scared” as the group engaged in rowdy behavior, impeding the flight attendants’ ability to perform their duties.
As summer draws to a close, incidents of this nature highlight ongoing frustrations among air travelers. Many express their dissatisfaction with the behavior of a minority of passengers, which can overshadow the experience for others.
Authorities, including the Guardia Civil, have been approached for additional comments regarding the incident and any subsequent actions taken against the individuals involved.
