Oasis Fans Find Affordable Options to See Band in Australia

Oasis fans who missed out on tickets for the band’s UK comeback concerts are discovering affordable alternatives to see the iconic group perform live in Australia. With ticket prices soaring in the UK, fans like Natalie Slater from Preston, Lancashire, are opting to travel halfway around the world for a chance to experience the concert at a far lower cost.
After a successful string of sold-out shows across the UK, Oasis is set to continue their tour in Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia. Unlike the situation in the UK, where dynamic pricing methods resulted in inflated ticket costs, fans in Australia are finding tickets available for much more reasonable prices. For instance, tickets for concerts at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne and Docklands are still accessible on multiple platforms.
Natalie Slater expressed her frustration at the ticketing situation in the UK, stating, “I wasn’t able to get a ticket in the UK. They are so rare and expensive. It was just impossible.” Many of her friends were keen on attending, viewing it as a significant cultural event, but ultimately, most were unable to secure tickets.
Taking advantage of a work trip to Australia, Natalie will attend an Oasis concert on November 4, 2023. She noted, “The planets aligned. I think it’s a good cultural moment. I was a massive Oasis fan as a kid.” She managed to secure a seat close to the front, enhancing her excitement for the show.
According to an analysis by the ethical ticket resale platform Twickets, UK fans can travel to Melbourne, attend the concert, and stay for five nights for under £900. The detailed breakdown shows that return flights from London to Melbourne between October 31 and November 5 cost approximately £627. The concert ticket purchased through Twickets is £135, and accommodation for five nights in a double bedroom via Airbnb totals £106. This brings the total to £867, a significant savings compared to the more than £1,000 often charged for unofficial resale tickets in the UK.
While the prospect of travelling abroad may seem excessive to some, the current lower flight prices make this package appealing. By choosing legitimate platforms like Twickets, fans avoid the risks associated with inflated prices and unreliable resellers. Tickets sold through Twickets are capped at face value or lower, plus a small booking fee, allowing fans to enjoy live music without financial strain.
Richard Davies, founder of Twickets, emphasized the need for fair pricing in the concert industry, stating, “Fans shouldn’t have to remortgage their homes to see their favourite bands.” He highlighted that, based on their research, it is indeed possible for fans to travel internationally, enjoy a concert, and stay comfortably without exceeding the cost of a single ticket from a secondary market seller in the UK.
With the vibrant music scene and dedicated fan base, Oasis continues to inspire excitement and passion, even for those willing to travel great distances to experience their performances. As the tour unfolds across the globe, fans are reminded that sometimes, the journey for a concert can be just as thrilling as the event itself.
