The annual Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards have named the best attractions and experiences in the UK, with the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh taking the top spot. Announced on July 22, 2025, the awards recognize highly-rated experiences based on user reviews, showcasing a diverse selection from natural wonders to historical sites.

Touted as a five-star visitor attraction, the Royal Yacht Britannia has surpassed other iconic destinations, including the British Museum and Tower Bridge in London. The vessel, which served as the royal yacht from 1954 until its retirement in 1997, is now permanently berthed in Leith, allowing visitors to explore its five decks that include the Engine Room, Crew’s Quarters, and the Sun Lounge, famously known as Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite room. The attraction also features the Royal Deck Tearoom, where guests can enjoy a selection of sandwiches, soups, and traditional cakes.
