Rudimental Unveils ‘The Lost Tapes’ Featuring Ed Sheeran, Raye

British drum and bass group Rudimental has announced plans to release a compilation album titled The Lost Tapes, featuring previously unheard collaborations with prominent artists, including Ed Sheeran and Raye. This revelation comes after the band performed at the Reading Festival and coincides with the release of their fifth album, Rudim3ntal, which debuted on September 8, 2023.
During an exclusive interview with the Bizarre column, band member Piers Aggett shared insights about the forthcoming project. He noted that the vault contains numerous tracks, some dating back as far as eight years. “There’s a Raye track there that could have easily made this album,” Aggett remarked. “There’s Ed Sheeran tracks from eight years ago that are still in the vault.” This significant backlog of material provides a wealth of options for future releases.
Future Album Plans and Collaborations
Rudimental has consistently been at the forefront of the UK music scene, known for hits like “Feel The Love” and “These Days.” As they look ahead, Aggett indicated that they might consider naming their next album The Lost Tapes, emphasizing the idea of releasing tracks that never made it to the public. Bandmate Kesi Dryden echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the compilation could serve as a platform for songs that deserve to be heard.
The band’s creative output remains prolific. Aggett revealed that they had written approximately 3,000 songs during the past four years, with much of their recent work completed long before the release of their latest album. “This album really was finished a year to two years ago,” he explained, highlighting the continual evolution of their music. “And then what happens is, you get in the studio and we wrote ‘Nights Like These’ (featuring Rag ’N’ Bone Man) in December.”
This dynamic process has already set the stage for their next album, which is reportedly about 70 percent complete, showcasing the band’s ongoing dedication to their craft.
A New Chapter for Rudimental
Beyond their musical endeavors, Rudimental is also taking steps to nurture emerging talent. In 2026, they plan to launch a new record label aimed at supporting aspiring vocalists, producers, and dance acts, further solidifying their role as champions for a new generation of British artists. Dryden stated, “As Rudimental, we’ve always been a platform for artists. I think that’s reignited the fire for us and we’re super-excited about the next chapter.”
With their commitment to collaboration and artist development, Rudimental is poised to maintain their influence in the music industry. As they prepare to unveil The Lost Tapes and explore new opportunities, fans can look forward to a fresh wave of creativity from this iconic group.
