Drug Shipment from US Seized in Montenegro, One Arrested

Authorities in Montenegro intercepted a significant drug shipment originating from the United States, containing nearly 1.8 kilograms of marijuana. The discovery was made by officials at the Montenegro Postal Service, who promptly alerted local police.

The package, addressed to B.K., a 25-year-old resident of Zeta, was under inspection by customs when the illicit contents were identified. The investigation indicated that the marijuana was divided into three plastic packages. Following the identification of B.K., law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence.

During the search, police uncovered additional evidence including a drum for storing ammunition, a grinder with traces of plant material suspected to be marijuana, and a smaller quantity of the drug itself. They also seized a communication device from B.K.

The authorities suspect that the marijuana was intended for street sale. The Higher State Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of the developments, and they are proceeding with charges against B.K. for unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking within Montenegro. The police department continues to investigate the broader context of this case, aiming to disrupt networks involved in illegal drug distribution.
