University of Montenegro Honors Slavoljub Mijović with Emeritus Title

The University of Montenegro (UCG) will officially honor Professor Slavoljub Mijović with the title of Professor Emeritus during a special Senate session on December 29, 2025. The event is scheduled to begin at 12:00 at the UCG Rectorate.

This occasion will feature remarks from UCG Rector, Professor Vladimir Božović, who will outline the university’s ongoing developments, particularly emphasizing improvements in infrastructure, academic excellence, and the contributions of its academic community.

The program will also include the presentation of awards to individuals recognized for their contributions to the scientific, artistic, and professional work within UCG’s organizational units.

As part of the ceremony, attendees can expect the premiere of the film titled “Building Knowledge Space,” which focuses on various infrastructural projects at the university.

In addition, the Music Academy Choir will perform during the event, delivering the national anthem of Montenegro and the academic anthem “Gaudeamus igitur.” A musical performance by Professor Oleksij Molčanov, featuring J.S. Bach’s “Siciliana,” will also be part of the celebrations.

Following the formal proceedings, a cocktail reception will be held, allowing attendees to further engage and celebrate the achievements of the university and its esteemed members. This event marks a significant recognition of Professor Mijović’s extensive contributions and the ongoing evolution of the University of Montenegro.
