Red Arrows Set to Dazzle Cambridgeshire Ahead of Clacton Display

The iconic Red Arrows aerobatic team will grace the skies over Cambridgeshire on Friday, August 22, 2024, as part of their performance schedule for the Clacton airshow. Departing from RAF Mildenhall, the team will fly over several towns in preparation for their display.

The Red Arrows are expected to take off from RAF Mildenhall at 12:47 PM. Their flight path will first lead them over Newmarket at approximately 12:49 PM, followed by a pass over Stratford St Mary and Great Bentley before arriving at Clacton at 1:00 PM for the show.

After the performance, the team will return to RAF Mildenhall via Bury St Edmunds, expected to pass over Wordwell around 1:41 PM. They will land back at RAF Mildenhall at 1:42 PM. This flight path offers an excellent opportunity for local spectators to witness the Red Arrows in action.

For those unable to catch the early afternoon display, the Red Arrows will provide another chance to see them later in the day. They are scheduled to take off from RAF Mildenhall again at 3:25 PM, heading towards Feltwell at 3:27 PM. Their route will take them over parts of Cambridgeshire, including Ely, Hemingford Grey, and Little Paxton, before proceeding to Bolnhurst at 3:33 PM.

The Red Arrows will then continue their journey south of Northampton, ultimately arriving at Exeter Airport at 4:02 PM. It is important to note that all timings and routes are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Observers will be able to identify the Red Arrows by their distinctive BAE Systems Hawk T1 aircraft. The team often showcases their classic Diamond Nine formation, a hallmark of their performances that makes them instantly recognizable.
