Man Charged After Double Burglary at Bromborough Retail Park
A man has been charged following two burglaries that occurred on January 2, 2024, at Croft Retail Park in Bromborough. The incidents involved a theft at the popular restaurant Nando’s, where numerous items were taken, including car keys, two sets of headphones, aftershave, and cash.
Later that evening, a security office at the retail park was also targeted, resulting in the theft of two e-bikes. The suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Following a thorough investigation, police arrested and charged Benjamin Ollerhead, 28, from Moscow Drive in Old Swan. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of burglary, burglary with intent to steal, and theft of a motor vehicle. Ollerhead has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on January 26, 2024.
Police Response and Community Impact
Detective Sergeant Nicholas Glascott-Tull addressed the significance of the charges, stating, “I hope this investigation and the charge of a suspect offers some reassurance to business owners, staff, and the wider community that we take these reports extremely seriously.” He emphasized that theft from a business is not a victimless crime and can profoundly affect both employees and the overall organization.
Detective Sergeant Glascott-Tull also highlighted the importance of security measures for businesses. He suggested that owners identify potential entry points that may require added attention, and consider implementing CCTV systems to enhance security. “You get a lot of useful information on our website,” he noted.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about the burglaries or related incidents to come forward. Individuals can contact the police at 101 or send direct messages on social media to @MerpolCC. For those wishing to report anonymously, Crimestoppers can be reached at 0800 555 111.
As the investigation continues, local businesses are reminded of the importance of maintaining secure premises to prevent similar incidents in the future. The police remain committed to ensuring safety and security within the community, and urge residents to stay vigilant.
