Man Charged After Fatal Crash Claims Life of Teenager in Co Down

A man has been charged with causing the death of 16-year-old Jaidyn Rice following a tragic incident in Co Down. Jaidyn was struck by a car on July 8, 2023, shortly before 11:00 PM, while walking on the West Circular Road in Bangor. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.

Reverend Ian McKee, who conducted the funeral, described Jaidyn as “loved deeply and adored absolutely.” He reflected on the shock and devastation her death brought to both her family and the wider community, stating, “Her untimely death has devastated the family circle and shocked the whole community right to the core.”
